Body Scrubs that i dun arth 'ate!

I've not been lucky finding body scrubs that pass my stringent requirements.
Body scrubs don't normally cost small change so i'm nearly always miffed when i buy something that seems to feel like i'm rubbing moisturiser with a few grains of rice over my corn beef legs and bingo wings. If i'm wanting a body scrub it's because i want to exfoliate my skin, not tickle it.

The good ones are Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush body scrub. This smells good enough to eat. No really i would eat it, but i checked the ingredients and was mighty upset to find that i couldn't.
The second is Soap & Glory's Flake Away body scrub. This doesn't smell as edible, but still blimmin' lovely.
I guess Soap & Glory have the same opinion as me, a body scrub is meant to scrub!

I'm a stubborn ol' bird and i hold grudges when i spend money on a product and like nothing about them.
I really hate The Body Shop's body scrubs. I've tried, Moringa, Cherry, Raspberry, Shea, Coconut, Strawberry and Peach. Yep, i tried most of them all in the hope that having a different ingredient and scent might mean they have a different texture.

They all seem the same to me. Like gel or light moisturiser (depending on which scent) with what seems like 5% of scrubby grains. I also end up using a quarter of the pot each time to cover the areas i want to scrub. I use scrub on the tops of my arms to help stop getting bumpy skin and around my lower calves and ankles as i suffer from lizard skin there.

Another brand which i normally rate very highly is Organic Surge. Their Daily Care Face Wash is my total favourite face wash but i find i have the same problem as i do with The Body Shop's body scrubs as i do with their Tropical Bergamot body scrub.
Don't get me wrong, I love the scents of these products but i don't purchase them for their scents.

I've even thought about using St Ive's facial scrubs as body scrubs when i've seen them on offer as i'm so wary about spending money on any other brands other than Soap & Glory.

Does anyone have any suggestions for some good scrubbers?

  1. So I found your blog through bbloggers blog hop and i am so glad I did; first post I read and I couldn't agree more. "I want to exfoliate my skin, not tickle it" actually had me chuckling. Guess I will be checking out the sugar crush scrub in the near future :)
Also, I'm a newbie to blogging and would appreciate any feedback on my blog: www.mybeautybliss.net
